Does you clutch creek? No - your lucky!!!

Every time I depress the clutch on my Corolla D-4D it creeks like an old sailing ship.

The car has been in to Mr T for a Timing belt change and a health check - they did not mention it. So I thought I'd check the web and sure enough poor Corolla owners around the country are slowly being demented by the noise. A sample post can be read here. It seems I'm not alone.

No love from Google™ but plenty from Yahoo™

After being in and out of the Google™ index on a regular basis I've decided to leave it and put more effort into other search engines.

This has really paid off with Yahoo™ in particular returning www.toyotawarning.co.uk highly ranked.

Some of my favourite Yahoo™ searches are;

Toyota warning – this not surprisingly ranks us as 1 out of 25,100,000 Toyota results

Genuine Toyota Corolla parts – ranks us 6 out of 513,000 Toyota results.

Toyota genuine parts – gets us 29 out of 3,130,000.

Searching for Genuine Toyota Auris parts sees us return ranked second.

One of my favourites – Toyota Customer Relations puts us 27 out of 8,660,000 - something to work on there.

The Corolla has a common fault - but no recall.

I have recently become aware that the head unit including the air vents is working its way free from the dash. No problem I though - I'll just push it back in. After just a few miles of driving its working itself free again.

Turns out I'm not alone in fact there is quite a long post on the Toyota owners forum. The post can be read here. It seems it affects quite a few Corolla cars both pre and post the 2004 facelift.

A known fault but no recall. If you are lucky enough to still have warranty for your car Toyota will try to repair it, but it seems this is less than successful and most owners are resigned to just putting up with it.

How much for Toyota to turn off a light?

Well the dreaded engine management came on. I phoned a Toyota dealer who informed me it would cost around £85 (170 USD) to diagnose the cause of the light. That price does not include anything other than code reading the ecu.

Not surprisingly I turned down their offer and took my car to an independent garage. They read the code and reset the light for free. I turned out it was the glowplug circuit. I asked them to go ahead and replace the glowplugs.

Now consider this - the engine management light can come on for something as simple as your fuel filler cap not being on tight enough! Imagine giving Toyota £85 (170USD) just to be told to tighten your filler cap!!

This news page lives on!!!

I've decided to continue with this news page by adding problems I and others have had with Toyota and their cars.

31st October 2007

Toyota and myself draw line in sand. - The counter is now stopped!

Today Toyota GB phoned to advise me that the part had been delivered to my dealer. They once again apologised and after a brief disscusion recompence was agreed.

I have no intention of adding to, or updating this site. That said - I also have no intention of removing this site either.

I still encourage people to get in touch with their stories.

Does Toyota GB know what they're doing?

Strange question, but needs to be asked! As you'll see from earlier news I received a telephone call from Toyota Customer Relations two days ago on the 24th October 2007 to inform me that the ETA of my part remained the 7th November 2007 which was 14 days away.

Today - 2 days later the dealer I bought the car from (Not a Toyota Dealer) phoned to tell me the part for my Corolla had arrived. He was shocked it had taken so long and as an appologie said they would service the car at the same time free of charge. A really nice gesture when you consider this was not their problem. Toyota Customer Relations could really learn a few things about how to treat owners of their cars.

I have stopped the ETA timer, but will leave the main timer running until the part is fitted and tested.

No change at Toyota

Just got a call from Toyota Customer Relations - As they promised twenty days ago, they just wanted to keep in touch and to tell me that there wasn't any change in the ETA of the part for my Toyota Corolla. So thats nice.

Also in the news

Some of you have alerted me to the fact that this site is no longer listed on Google™ This is just temporary. The reason is I made changes to all pages and so was delisted until Google™ re-indexes me.

Google™ ranks www.toyotawarning.co.uk

Well after the initial creation of this site intended to highlight the problems I have had as a Toyota Corolla owner with Toyota and their customer relations I turned my attention to getting www.toyotawarning.co.uk into Google™ and ranked as high as possible.

If you are a returning visitor you may have noticed slight changes to the site - text added, paragraphs reading slightly strange, words like Toyota, Camry, Corolla, and problems, appearing heavily in the content. Well this is all intended to influence Google™ and how highly it ranks this site. Basically to try and get www.toyotawarning.co.uk returned by Google™ when a person performs a Toyota related search.

Obviously this is an ongoing effort and will continue as it is quite fun when I see www.toyotawarning.co.uk returned on the same page at other Toyota sites.

Some of my favourite Google™ searches are;

Toyota warning – this not surprisingly ranks us as 1 out of 2,660,000 Toyota results

Toyota Corolla genuine parts – ranks us 8 out of 244,000 Toyota results.

Genuine Toyota parts – gets us 29th out of 1,420,000 while putting Toyota first in the search gets www.toyotawarning.co.uk even higher at 17th

Searching for Genuine Toyota Auris parts sees us return ranked third. Not too bad and hopefully a public service for those searching about the Toyota Auris.

One of my favourites – Toyota Customer Relations puts us on the front page ranked 9th out of 1,920,000

Well as they say – Onward and upwards.
